Consulting company Mercer in Canada is currently have openings for summer internships for students and/or recent graduates with a business focus to join Mercer's Human Capital business as an Analyst in 2010 (Montreal-based position). Our goal is to provide opportunities for students and recent graduates to demonstrate their superior analytical abilities and to develop business consulting skills.
Mercer's Human Capital business helps clients optimize performance by addressing their human capital and HR functional issues. Working as part of a team of experienced professionals, Analysts are expected to consistently produce high quality client deliverables on a timely basis.
On a day to day basis the Analyst:
Participates in client meetings to assist in identifying specific needs and throughout the whole mandate
Conducts research, collects data, applies qualitative and quantitative analytical techniques and identifies key findings and client implications in order to resolve specific client issues.
Writes reports in order to present analyses and recommendations
The career path for an analyst includes advancement to project manager and eventually to being an autonomous consultant dealing directly with clients.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in business / economics (graduate, or in-progress)
- M.Sc. or MBA (management, HR, finance) is an asset
- Ideally, a mix of quantitative (finance/economics) and qualitative (HR / industrial relations) education and/or experience
- Bilingual (French/English, spoken and written)
- Solid understanding of business strategy, human resource strategy, finance and business statistics
- Ability to understand client business issues and to structure research and analysis to support the development of client solutions
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills
- Exceptional problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Strong organization and workflow management capabilities
- Ability to work in teams
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Excel and financial/business modeling is an asset
