Groupon is among several internship positions seeking a Strategic Planner intern. Based in London you will be at the forefront of the team helping to select and plan a range of deal categories for a specified region in the UK and Ireland. Taking responsibility for the portfolio of deals for that region, you will follow trends in leisure and wellness activities, analyse past and future deal performance and assess deal economics. In addition to this invaluable experience, you will earn a competitive internship salary with the chance for a permanent position.
Your Responsibilities
- Choose the best deals to feature in an assigned region taking into account profit and customer experience maximisation
- Manage the long-term portfolio of deals in an assigned region and working with sales team and managers
- Analyse buying patterns specific to the region and similar
- Identify trends in new categories by keeping abreast of new restaurants openings, new leisure activities and new beauty/wellness treatments
- Utilise deal knowledge within the team and region to fine tune deal economics with the sales teams and to position deal marketing with editorial team
- Manage plans for stock levels and communicate this to the sales team
Your Skills
- Undergraduate degree in Economics, Management or Business Studies (other subjects are welcome)
- Experience or strong interest in entrepreneurship, marketing, start-ups, internet and/or retail businesses
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and to make quick decisions with incomplete information
- Outstanding attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to drive for results
- Strong analytical skills
