Two internship positions are currently available at EUROPEN (The European Organization for Packaging and the Environment), Europe’s largest packaging and environmental industry association.
1. Internship focused on assisting in EU policy work within EUROPEN’s scope
2. Internship focused on Communication and Webdesign
Are you ready to experience European policy making and shaping in the heart of Europe and be working on an array of issues ranging from packaging and sustainability, food waste, environmental policies and communication on packaging? Our members count some of the world’s biggest companies and they are all dedicated to satisfactorily addressing the environmental challenges facing the packaging supply chain.
We are looking for two interns to assist the EUROPEN office on a variety of tasks at the EUROPEN office in the EU area
in Brussels. The internships will provide you with an opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge in a real life setting, in-
depth understanding of EU issues and cross-cultural work experience.
The two internships will take place from the 1st of February until the 1st of August 2012 or longer if
possible.
Examples of tasks include:
- Participating at meetings and giving feedback
- Producing internal information material to be used in working with packaging & environmental issues
- Working in cross-functional teams to coordinate activities with members
- Updating and reviewing internal documents to ensure alignment
- Producing Power Point Presentations to be used in presentations and meetings
- Working on individual research projects (Web design and presentation material)
Qualifications
- Independent, dynamic, and open-minded personality
- High level of written and oral English
- Completed minimum second year of undergraduate studies
- A background in EU studies and/or Communication Studies
- Previous job experience is preferred, but not required
- Basic IT competence (Word, Excel, PPT, Internet) – knowledge in web design is preferred.
EUROPEN will assist with administrative issues and provide information on different options of accommodation. The internships are without remuneration. However, EUROPEN will cover transport, accommodation and other expenses (TBD). Furthermore, certain studies allow credit transfers from internships. If this is the case, you will be able to get funding during your internship.
