INTERNSHIP in Melbourne, Australia as an Digital Marketing Intern

The Society of Digital Agencies (SoDA) in Melbourne, Australia serves as a voice for digital marketing professionals worldwide with a mission to advance the industry through Best Practices, Education, and Advocacy.

Tasks/Responsibilities
  • The SoDA Ops intern will have responsibilities for developing activities and initiatives at the regional level in Australia. These duties will include:
  • Organizing formal or informal meet-ups of SoDA members in their respective region in conjunction with other industry events
  • Researching non-English thought leadership pieces of interest to the digital marketing community to be published on the SoDA blog
  • Assist the SoDA Ops team in researching / planning industry events for SoDA at the regional level
  • Helping to craft the organization’s regional strategy in conjunction with the SoDA Ops
  • Team, Regional Committees and the organization’s Board of Directors
Regional Membership Responsibilities
  • Researching and identifying strong perspective member agencies within
  • Australia based on thought leadership, agency’s portfolio of work, client base and industry recognition
  • Liaising with the Global Membership Committee Chairman, SoDA Director of
  • Operations and the Australasia Membership Committee to usher prospective members through the membership selection process
  • Maintaining Australasia membership pipeline document
  • Assisting SoDA’s Operations Manager with all aspects of the Member
  • Onboarding process – from the voting/selection process to orientation
  • Researching, negotiating and securing new member benefits with a variety of third parties
  • Fulfilling member research requests
  • Ideate and execute new initiatives to increase the value of SoDA to member companies at the regional level.
In addition, the SoDA Operations intern will have global responsibilities for one (1) of the four
(4) following areas written below (to be determined based on experience, intern interest and organizational
needs).

1. Events
  • Researching and assisting with the planning of major industry conferences (Cannes, SXSWi, Adobe MAX, SoDA Global Member Meeting)
  • Researching / planning for new SoDA industry events in all four regions (Europe, Latin America, North America and Asia-Pacific)
  • Member / Follower communications related to event
  • Event promotion via SoDA owned media channels and social platforms
  • Liaising with SoDA partners to promote SoDA events
  • Press outreach / relations for SoDA events
  • Assistance with event budgeting
2. Communications & SoDA Doc.s
  • Researching and identifying thought leadership pieces for SoDA blog
  • Assisting with the crafting and maintenance of SoDA’s message management calendar across all social channels (Twitter, LinkedIn, DMRoundtable.com, Facebook, etc)
  • Assist with maintenance of SoDA website
  • Drafting press releases related to SoDA’s various projects and initiatives
  • Reviewing /editing SoDA White Papers on a wide variety of digital marketing topics.
  • Assistance with the development of SoDA Doc.s (SoDA’s Best Practice Suite of Documents, Contracts and Benchmark Surveys)
3. The SoDA Report
  • Assistance with The SoDA Report (SoDA’s quarterly publication on the future of digital advertising)
  • Working with research partner (3rd party company)
  • Maintaining project plan and coordinate submissions from member agencies
  • Reviewing / editing content submissions
  • Assisting with the production of ancillary content (infographics, video, podcasts) to bring DMO content to life in a multi-media, multi-screen format
4. Peer Collaboration Group Management
  • 12 Groups include: Account Management, Creative, Development, HR, IT, Project Management, New Biz/Marketing, Social Media, Strategy/Account Planning, Agency Ops./Finance, UX/IA, Measurement & Analytics
  • Provide weekly update on activity of group and number of new questions/ comments posted
  • Researching questions / issues / challenges / editorial pieces related to individual disciplines to spark conversation / collaboration among peer groups
  • Working with volunteer Peer Collaboration Group leads from Member
  • Agencies to identify topics and guest speakers for webinar meet-ups
  • Assisting with the organization of informal meet-ups of Peer Group members (by discipline or groups of complimentary disciplines) in key regions
  • Working with SoDA Operations Assoc. Mgr. to ensure all Peer Groups are active and engaged
  • Assisting with the onboarding of new Peer Group members.
*Please Note: SoDA does not offer relocation assistance, but all SoDA internships are paid positions.

Qualifications/Desirables:
  • All candidates must be fluent in English (written / oral fluency).
  • Multi-lingual capabilities a priority based on internship region (ex. Mandarin Chinese, Japanese,
  • German, Russian, Spanish, Portuguese, and/or French are priority languages).
  • Digital Agency and/or Marketing experience a major plus.
  • Bachelor’s Degree a mandatory; Master’s candidates preferred.
  • Passion for digital marketing.
  • Permission to Work in Australia
