Engineer Intern in London for 6 months for Yahoo!

This intern position is not merely a way to passively gain exposure to the industry: whoever fills this role will create an automation framework and tools by the end of the term. The position involves automating as much of the web-services and frontend components of the Eurosport site as we can in three months. The intention for this position is to pair with a QA Intern and they will produce a functional test suite and tools to test the main features of the European sports site.

The candidate will gain exposure to the development process from start to finish and will be expected to write a large amount of code. This is a technical position.

Responsibilities:

* Architect, Develop and document an automation test suite.
* Create frontend and backend automation using existing toolsets.
* Send regular status reports on progress.


Requirements:

* Experience with the HTTP protocol and good understanding of web services.
* Knowledge of multi-tier web platforms and concepts.
* Good object oriented programming skills in one of Java, Perl or PHP.
* Experience of advanced screen scraping methods.
* Good Knowledge in at least one scripting language such as Perl.
* Active team participant with strong technical skills.
* Strong organizational, written & verbal communication skills.
* Fast learner, with an excellent attention to detail.
* Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
* Ability to work independently.
* Working on a BS/MS in computer science or equivalent.
