Yahoo! Department Overview:
The operations finance team directly support the Business teams of Yahoo Europe, led by the European CFO. The Advertising Marketplaces Ops Finance team work directly on projects and products which drive the Advertising Revenue on the business, in particular Search and Display Advertising. The team consists of one Director and 5 Finance analysts/managers who are embedded with cross functional business teams. Core responsibilities include revenue forecasting, invest case analysis, analytical insight and metrics reporting.
Responsibilities:
This Internship is for a Finance Analyst role supporting our Performance Display Business. This is a high growth business in a very competitive marketplace of internet advertising, and Yahoo is a leading player.
In this role you will work on key projects to impact decisions made by our Direct Response team.
You will identify and propose revenue opportunities across Display and Direct Response marketplaces through timely and accurate decision support analytics. Drivers include yield/pricing analysis, supply based inventory forecasting, and product performance.
Probable projects include:
Forecast Model Improvements
• Run and improve the model for Direct Responce Display revenue on our Strategic Partners and 3rd Party Business
• Liaise with cross functional members for input into the model
• Provide supporting documents to DR ldrship team to demonstrate opportunities and risks in the forecast and aid decision making for mitigating actions
Demand Opportunity Assessments
• Execute a deep dive review on category demand in our Direct Response business
• Run analysis to compare to the Performance Market and our Search Business, and work with our Network Yield Management team to find the best performing catgeories on our network
• Provide supporting documents to DR ldrship team to demonstrate opportunities for capturing new Demand segments and aid decision making for mitigating actions
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Studying or Newly Qualified MBA or Finance/Accounting Qualification
- Industry Experience in broad exposure to analytical decision making,(e.g. Consulting, Banking Analyst, Private Equity Analyst)
- You will have strong communication abilities and analytical skills for financial analysis and modelling, tracking and measuring key metrics and adhoc business analysis –including dealing with large volumes of data and consolidating cross-system information.
- Excellent knowledge of Excel functionalities is a must, Access a plus
- Strong system skills: Ability to rapidly form an intimate understanding of our various display inventory and finance systems
- Experience of cross-functional teams and a matrix organization including the ability to deal with multiple stakeholders.
