INTERNSHIPS in New York as an Editorial, Fashion, Production, Photography or Design Intern

Luxury magazine, DOWNTOWN Magazine NYC is currently seeking editorial/online interns for the Fall/ Winter 2012 season. They are offering full-time unpaid positions in our Lower Manhattan offices. School credit will be available for all intern positions

DOWNTOWN Magazine is a unique luxury publication about lower Manhattan. They are currently looking for interns in these departments:
- Editorial
- Fashion
- Production
- Photography
- Design

Job Description

Editorial
An ideal intern will have strong writing skills, be pursuing a degree in English, journalism or a similar discipline, be comfortable writing for a variety of categories and, perhaps most importantly, motivated and willing to learn and grow. Attractive candidates should also be comfortable with Microsoft Office, InDesign and Photoshop. Previous experience with WordPress is a major plus.

Fashion
The fashion department is looking for interns with a strong background in and passion for fashion. Ideal interns will be efficient and able to multi-task, willing to run some errands, learn about fashion, write select web posts and assist on photo shoots. Being up to date and able to follow style trends are also vital.

Production
The photography department is looking for interns with a passion for production. Intern responsibilities include overall production needs for photo shoots. Applicant must be efficient, able to multitask and have a willingness to learn.

Photography
The photography department is looking for interns with a passion for photography. Intern responsibilities include model castings, photo research, attending events and shoots. Applicant must be efficient, able to multitask and have a willingness to learn.

Design
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite is a must.
- Interns must be organized, and must have a can-do attitude.
- We are a small team, and interns will gain invaluable experience during their time at DOWNTOWN.

INTERNSHIP in Paris, France as a Business Developer Intern

Creads is a creative design and communication Agency based in Paris, France. Creads bases its creative activities on crowdsourcing and is now growing as a company to expand to the US. As a result of the expansion and increasing amount of clients, Creads are now looking for a business developer intern to take part in the project to expand to the United States.

Role description 
Assist in Creads US development but also in;
- Creads.org English adaptation
- Customer prospection
- Designer prospection
- PR and Media
- Blog article writing

Your profile
  • Native English speaker and writer
  • Excellent communication skills (writing)
  • Sales/marketing experience
  • Personality is Proactive and a self-starter, smart, somebody with strong initiative and motivational drive
  • Sense of ownership

It is a plus to also be:
  • Conversational in French (would be a plus)
  • Photoshop skills (would be a plus) 

Duration
Minimum of 6 months Internship + Contract is CDI

SUMMER INTERNSHIP or THESIS near London, U.K as Research/Design Intern at Procter & Gamble

The P&G internship programme is a successful way to hire future R&D employees in Europe (Reading, UK and Kronberg, Germany). It is a period of mutual trial - a chance for you to gain industrial experience, look at us as a potential future employer and for us to see your capabilities.
The P&G main internship normally runs for 10-12 weeks in the summer break but they also offer internships/placements/thesis for longer periods (up to 1 year) and at different times of the year. Next opportunities will be available as of June 2012.

On top of a great learning experience, participants will also receive an attractive remuneration package.

Job Responsibilities
During the internship students will:
1. be responsible for their own project(s) as part of a European project team that includes senior management,
2. have an opportunity to put their technical skills to work on intellectually challenging problems,
3. improve their team working and management skills through practical experience and interactive training courses,
4. learn to work effectively with people of different nationalities and cultural backgrounds,
5. experience the working environment in a leading international company, and
6. gain guidance on their professional development

Job Requirements
P&G are looking for Design students from a range of Design related backgrounds (Industrial design, Product Design and Design Engineering).
It is preferable that students are in their penultimate year of a superior degree (PhD's also considered) and have a demonstrated history of academic excellence at all stages through school and university education.
In addition to good knowledge of English, we also look for skills such as technical curiosity, creativity, innovation, initiative, communication, leadership and the ability to work with others.
Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK as work permit will not be facilitated for outside EU passport holders.


Design internship role description
The design role in Reading requires creative conceptual thinking and a strong design skills base to bring concepts to life. Primarily the role involves developing the skills to gather consumer and technical insights, whole brain creative thinking to turn insights into ideas and design skills to turn ideas into shaving concepts.
As an intern candidate we expect students to show through their portfolio work examples of creative conceptual thinking. We expect to develop a skills base in consumer research and evaluation of ideas. We look for strong base level of design tools such as sketching and CAD from which we can build during the internship. The type of project work we assign to student varies from broad design brief in a strategic opportunity area through to design development of already formed ideas. We will coach interns through the process of invention and design to develop working examples of their ideas for consumer testing.
The basic requirements:
1. Design principles, form, structure, colour, materials and finishes
2. Consumer centred design principles
3. Ergonomics and usability principles
4. Product interaction design principles.
5. Sketching and artwork skills, manual and digital - as a way of exploring, developing and sharing ideas
6. CAD/CAM
7. Studio Modelling - again as a way of early and fast exploration, inventiveness of producing feasibility models quickly, cheaply and efficiently in a studio environment to gather quick learning
8. Basic workshop skills including lathe and mill
9. Design for Manufacture from bespoke to batch and mass manufacture techniques and their effect on how you would design the product and assemblies.
